2023年2月17日，由天津大学中国-东盟智慧海洋中心主办，福建海洋可持续发展研究院（厦门大学）和中国海洋大学协办的中国-东盟第三届“向海而学”学生视频大赛颁奖典礼暨第二届大学生赛艇比赛启动会在国家海洋博物馆以线上线下形式举行，福建海洋可持续发展研究院院长薛雄志教授应邀出席本次活动。
本次视频大赛颁奖典礼和赛艇比赛启动会是中国—东盟中心和天津大学共同举办的中国-东盟高等教育合作论坛的重要组成部分。中国—东盟中心秘书长史忠俊阁下及教育文旅部副主任李亚莹，泰王国驻华大使阿塔育阁下及夫人、泰王国驻华大使馆公使衔参赞陈善意，印尼驻华使馆教育参赞李健先生等东盟使馆、国际组织代表，及自然资源部南海局副局长谢健、海南热带海洋学院副校长王道儒、中新生态城管委会副主任孙晓峰、天津市学生赛艇联盟名誉主席沈家聪、天津市冬水中心副主任赵奉键、天津大学海洋学院院长翟京生、国家海洋博物馆馆长黄克力以及专家学者、参赛选手和师生代表等出席了本次活动。活动由天津大学国际合作与交流处副处长魏有香主持。
中国-东盟第三届“向海而学”学生视频大赛在中国—东盟中心和国家海洋博物馆的支持下，面向中国与东盟高校的学生，围绕“向海而学”的中心思想，以“海洋环境保护”为主题，赛道涉及海洋微塑料、碳中和等热点话题。大赛自2022年世界海洋日(6月8日)开赛，共吸引了来自中国(含港澳台）和东盟等6个国家、61所高校的近千名参赛选手参加，投稿768个视频，投稿数量和参赛人数均创新高。大赛最终角逐出10名一等奖、20名二等奖以及40名人气奖。

此外，薛雄志教授作为学术委员会副主任参加了中国-东盟智慧海洋中心学术委员会第四次会议等学术活动。本次会议于2023年2月16日下午在天津大学北洋园校区郑东图书馆一层会议室召开，会议采用线下线上相结合的形式举行，并由天津大学海洋学院院长翟京生主持。依托天津大学海洋科学与技术学院，中国-东盟智慧海洋中心自2017年正式成立以来，在智慧海洋教育、科研领域取得了一系列令人瞩目的成果。未来，闽海院将继续与中国-东盟智慧海洋中心一起，为中国-东盟教育交流合作、能力建设等做出更大贡献。

On February 17, 2023, the award ceremony of the 3rd ASEAN-China "Learning about Ocean" Student Film Competition and the launch of the 2nd Student Rowing Competition was held in the National Maritime Museum with an online venue. The event was organized by the China-ASEAN Smart Ocean Center of Tianjin University, co-convened by Fujian Institute for Sustainable Oceans (Xiamen University) and Ocean University of China. Prof. Xue Xiongzhi, Dean of FISO, was invited to this event.
The award ceremony and the launch of the rowing competition are key components of the China-ASEAN Forum on Cooperation in Higher Education co-organized by the ASEAN-China Center (ACC) and Tianjin University. H.E. Shi Zhongjun, Secretary General of ACC and Ms. Li Yaying, Deputy Director of the Education, Culture and Tourism Division of ACC, H.E. Atthayut Srisamut, Embassador of Thailand to China and his wife, Mr. Chen Shanyi, Minister Counselor of Thai Embassy in China, Mr. Li Jian, Education Counselor of the Indonesian Embassy in China and other representatives of ASEAN embassies and international organizations, as well as Mr. Xie Jian, Deputy Director of the South China Sea Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Mr. Wang Daoru, Vice President of Hainan Tropical Ocean University, Mr. Sun Xiaofeng, Deputy Director of the Management Committee of China-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city Administrative Committee, Mr. Shen Jiacong, Honorary Chairman of Tianjin Student Rowing Union, Mr. Zhao Fengjian, Deputy Director of Tianjin Winter & Water Sports Center, Mr. Zhai Jingsheng, Dean of School of Marine Science and Technology of Tianjin University, Mr. Huang Keli, Director of the National Maritime Museum of China, as well as other professionals, contestants and representatives of faculties and students attended the event. The ceremony was hosted by Ms. Wei Youxiang, Deputy Director of Office of International Cooperation, Tianjin University.
Supported by ACC and the National Maritime Museum of China, the 3rd “Learning about Ocean” film competition was designed for students from China and ASEAN countries. By encouraging students to produce films on hotspot topics including marine micro-plastic and carbon neutrality, the contest hopes to raise public awareness of marine environmental protection. Since the launch of the contest on World Ocean Day (June 8) 2022, 768 videos were submitted by close to 1,000 students from 61 universities across 6 countries (China (including Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan) and ASEAN countries) - record high numbers of both submissions and participants. 10 videos won first prize, 20 were awarded second prize and 40 were awarded 'Most Popular Videos'.
Prof. Xue Xiongzhi was also invited to the 4th meeting of the Academic Committee of China-ASEAN Smart Ocean Center. The meeting was held on February 16, 2023 in the conference room on the first floor of Zhengdong Library, Peiyangyuan Campus of Tianjin University with an online venue, and was hosted by Prof. Zhai Jingsheng, Dean of the School of Marine Science and Technology of Tianjin University. Supported by School of Marine Science and Technology of Tianjin University, the China-ASEAN Smart Ocean Center has achieved remarkable results in smart ocean education and research since its official establishment in 2017. In the future, FISO will continue to work with the China-ASEAN Smart Ocean Center to promote China-ASEAN academic exchange and cooperation, as well as capacity building.
