2026年1月30日，印度尼西亚卡渣玛达大学农业学院讲师Faizal Rachman博士率领该学院六名学生到访闽海院，开展学术交流。闽海院院长薛雄志教授亲切接待了代表团一行。
薛雄志院长首先代表闽海院对印尼师生的到来表示热烈欢迎。他指出，闽海院与印尼卡渣玛达大学具有良好的合作基础，并强调，作为闽海院发起的“海岸带可持续发展国际合作网络”创始成员单位之一，卡渣玛达大学农业学院的此次访问，是双方深化合作、推动实质性交流的重要一步。
在学术交流环节，闽海院付伊秋博士介绍了闽海院重要公共产品——《“海丝”沿线国家海岸带可持续发展能力指数报告》的核心成果，印尼师生踊跃提问并表达合作意向。随后，印尼学生依次分享了各自的研究方向与学术兴趣，获薛雄志院长与带队教师点评和鼓励。此外，闽海院能力建设与交流促进部执行主任叶亮英同步推介中国政府奖学金以及由闽海院专项支持的海岸带可持续发展奖学金，欢迎印尼优秀学子赴厦深造。
在薛雄志院长于2025年12月支持对方骨干成功申请“大学QS学科排名提升研究资助计划项目”之后，此次访问是“海岸带可持续发展国际合作网络”框架下的又一次成功实践，进一步巩固了闽海院与卡渣玛达大学的合作伙伴关系，也为后续双方在科研协作、人才培养等领域的深度合作奠定了良好基础。

On January 30, 2026, Dr. Faizal Rachman, lecturer at the Faculty of Agriculture of Universitas Gadjah Mada, led a delegation of six students to visit the Fujian Institute for Sustainable Oceans (FISO) for academic exchange. The delegation was warmly received by Professor Xue Xiongzhi, Dean of FISO.
Professor Xue first extended a warm welcome to the Indonesian delegation on behalf of FISO. He noted that FISO and Universitas Gadjah Mada have established a solid foundation for cooperation. He also emphasized that, as one of the founding members of the International Collaboration Network for Sustainable Coastal Development (SCD Network) initiated by FISO, the visit by the Faculty of Agriculture marked an important step toward deepening bilateral collaboration and advancing substantive academic exchanges.
During the academic exchange session, Ms. Fu Yiqiu, Ph.D. candidate of FISO introduced the key findings of FISO’s flagship public product, the Capacity Index of Sustainable Coastal Development for Countries along the Maritime Silk Road. The Indonesian faculty members and students actively engaged in discussions, raised questions, and expressed strong interest in future collaboration. Subsequently, the Indonesian students shared their respective research areas and academic interests, receiving comments and encouragement from Professor Xue and the accompanying faculty members. In addition, Ms. Ye Liangying, Executive Director of the Department of Capacity Building and Communication at FISO, introduced the Chinese Government Scholarship as well as the Xiamen University Sustainable Coastal Development Scholarship specially supported by FISO, warmly welcoming outstanding Indonesian students to pursue further studies in Xiamen.
Following Professor Xue’s support in December 2025 for a core faculty member from the partner institution in successfully securing funding under the “Research Funding Program for Improving QS Subject Rankings,” this visit represented another successful practice under the framework of the SCD Network. It further strengthened the partnership between FISO and Universitas Gadjah Mada, while laying a solid foundation for deeper cooperation in scientific research and talent cultivation.
